Tasted double-blind. The 2015 Movia is a departure from the typical Sauvignon Blanc experience. This becomes immediately apparent when presented in the glass; showing a hazy golden color that makes me believe this bottle has seen 10-15 years of cellar age. On the nose, I was reaffirmed that this bottle was likely quite old as it was showing notes of canned peaches, butterscotch and sherry-like notes. On the palate, marmalade and cashews. The high acid of the wine was holding everything together. It turned out that this wasn’t all that old, rather made in a more oxidative style. Charming in its own unique way…I really dig this!

Apr 24th, 2015Really lovely example of Sauvignon. All about finesse with round citrus, herbs and mint. Such a delight at the table.
