Mount Peak Winery
Gravity Red Blend
Another Wednesday Wine Committee lunch, this time hosted by my buddy @Will Adams ! As always, all wines are tasted blind.
Heard about this wine but my first time having it. This was the last glass in a flight of 4 reds and it deserved to be enjoyed last. Extracted, concentrated and big. My guess here was a cab/zin Blend from Cali. A lot of lush and ripe fruit to go along with cedar and fig type notes. Stylistically, I’d enjoy these younger rather than aging them. Incredibly easy to drink.

Dec 17th, 2017Very nice red blend! Shared it with my husband and our friend, Travis. It was delicious with a nice steak dinner.

Jun 27th, 2023Very nice red blend from Sonoma. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, some Zinfandel. Inky, big and powerful, but well balanced.

Jul 28th, 2019Scrumptious, juicy, complex. The nose and the mouth agree on this one. Jammy cassis, loam and chocolate are smoothly balanced with velvety lavender petals. It's thankful that this big wine coats the mouth with vibrant black current fruit for a finish that just won't quit. This one would be a value at twice the price.

Oct 29th, 2018This is a really good wine. Lots of flavor but all in a good way. Don't mind the fact we drank this to celebrate Hope's promotion. Definitely didn't influence the rating of this wine at all.

Oct 5th, 2018Wow... the second wine of the night from Mount Peak Winery. This is GRAVITY- a blend of Petite sirah, cabernet sauvignon, zinfandel and three other unknowns Im working to figure out. Im guessing cab franc, merlot, and who knows... well they do, but are not telling. Nevertheless, this is exceptional!!!!! Dark cherry and violet bouquet just like the cab - SENTINEL. The palate brings on blackberry of coarse with dark currants, blueberry, boysenberry, ripe figs, and a hint of strawberry, yes!, but not sweet! Then comes the vanilla and silky buttery mid palate. The finish is dry and lip puckering goodness. I need water!!!! Whew. OK forget the water just give me another sip! Stay tuned for the third wine- Rattlesnake!!! - Mount Peak Winery’s Zinfandel.
