Vintage 2019 | I love this wine. It’s a idiosyncratic character. A Beast. Not willing to show charm. Very old school: classic smell, peat, cedar. Hint of chocolate. I thought it to be a Tannat, that says it. Put away in the cellar for another 3 - 5 years and get it on a windy, rainy autumnday for a dinner with wild boar of deer. Probably you will be amazed and witness a miracle.

Needs manny manny years to ripen. Hard as nails from tannins and strong smokey background.

Beautifully perfumed. Florals, poached raisins, stewed red fruit, herbes de Provence. This is an unexpectedly light, energetic, and food-friendly Gigondas that is drinking nicely all but for the stubborn tannins. Might just need a few years.

Delicious. Pure purplish ruby. Seductive floral aromas of lavender, violet, black raspberry, mint and anise seed. Palate is polished, creamy, and weightless. Fruity and sweet, with a nice acidic twang and fine tannins rounding out the finish. So smooth! Drinks like a bottle that cost twice as much... worth stocking up on! I think this will be even more beautiful in time.

Well in magnum this 2004 is even more impressive, more freshness and more class - what a treat for 40 euros 😃

A wine that had much to deliver but that needed time to reveal, good to carafe half an hour before, this biodynamic Gigondas starts to be well mature, smoother on the edges while kept its elegant concentration, delicate tannins and pleasant aromatic herbs nose :) perfect for my slow-cooked lamb shank !

Impressive Gigondas, once more with no oak since the Saurel family doesn't use barrels, power but all in elegance and richness combining tones of aromatic herbs, pepper and flowers, definitely one of their best with fresh purity 80 %old vine Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre
