Terre des Aînés Gigondas Red Rhone Blend 2016

Josh M
9.3

Delicious. Pure purplish ruby. Seductive floral aromas of lavender, violet, black raspberry, mint and anise seed. Palate is polished, creamy, and weightless. Fruity and sweet, with a nice acidic twang and fine tannins rounding out the finish. So smooth! Drinks like a bottle that cost twice as much... worth stocking up on! I think this will be even more beautiful in time. — 13 days ago

Confidentiel Gigondas Red Rhone Blend 2010

Big and bold Gigondas, a blend of grenache and mourvedre made under biodynamic conditions. Decanted for an hour and the tannins are nicely rounded, stewed fruit and a hint of spiciness on the palate with a really pleasing persistence. — 3 months ago

Garrigues Vacqueyras Red Rhône Blend 2015

This was a request as an alternative to another Rhone area wine and is quite good. It needs a little airing, but blossomed into a very rich complex wine. A bit Tanic at first but really aired out beautifully — 5 months ago

Garrigues Vacqueyras Grenache Blend 2017

Delectable Wine
9.3

Brilliant ruby. Spice-accented red and dark berry preserve, floral and smoky mineral qualities on the expressive nose; a hint of succulent herbs emerges with air. Shows very good depth as well as energy to the sweet black raspberry, cherry and licorice flavors, which deepen steadily through the midpalate. Supple tannins build slowly on a long, spicy finish that leaves cassis and cracked pepper notes behind. Raised in concrete vats. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, February 2020)
