Brandied cherries, cedar, ash, pencil shavings, coffee bean, toasted caramel. Mild acid/minimal rough velvet tannin balance, juicy texture, full bodied, smoky herbal finish. More of a modern take on Barolo, not very complex to be expected from an off vintage.

Nov 6th, 2015I keep hearing how poor 03 was for Barolo but this bottle would prove that false. Age is easy to spot with the rusty color, nice fruits, tea, earth. Medium acidity, decent concentration and solid length. You'd be hard pressed to find a better 25 dollar nebbiolo. Think this one will hold on for a few more years, but I would drink up now.
