Cedar balm on leather, wet spring lilac, dehydrated thyme, cherry liqueur, dried blackberry; Ripe black cherry, raspberry/rose hip tea, earthy/tree bark notes, berry compote. Strong tannins, lingering sweet/floral finish. Decanted 3H at the time of notes, more time appreciated.

That’s actually the previous spater veit in the glass and this wine is much darker. What a wine. Dark berries, dark blackberry, mint, mineral, tree bark, so complex and deep. Wow this is sick. So much black cherry. Genius. Earthy. Truffley. Has some masserata in it. Some weird freak grape. Wow what a palate. Silken, sexy and lush. Lovely blackberry and purple fruits. Like a wine jelly donut filling. Stunning freshness and depth and focused like a laser. Insane linearity. Lovely sweetness. This is incredible. What a revelation. Nose is developing wild mint now. Just a gorgeous wine. So complex, complete and unique! Wow wow wow.
9.4 to 9.5 overnight. So much more complete and added elegance and energy. A stunning wine.

Montepepe riserva speciale
Nose is great out of the gate. Almost rougeardish so elegant. Floral. As it opens very elegant. The vegetal aspects Recede and it the floral components advance to the fore. Lilacs. Raspberry flowers. Like a melange of medium dark flowers. Big lilacs.
Palate is very fresh. Delicious fruit. Such sweet fruit. This has an elegant, regal aspect to it. As it opens more floral bouquet extract. Lilacs. Sweet flowers. Awesome. Fruit is there but an element not the driver.
Great out of the gate.
