The 2016 Gabbro, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is one of the most compelling wines I have ever tasted from Montepeloso. In most prior vintages, Gabbro has been rich and concentrated, but the 2016 flows with a sense of total refinement. Wild flowers, herbs, licorice, lavender, graphite and spice add myriad shades of dimension to a core of dark, beautifully resonant fruit. A wine of real gravitas and structure, the 2016 is going to require a number of years to be at its best, but it is stunning, even in the early going. In fact, I am simply blown away by how integrated it already is. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2020)

Complex and rewarding on many levels, this still youthful blockbuster CS is elegant and driven by its underlying minerality, but it also possesses richness and density. Created from the most international of red grape varieties, it does capture a true Tuscan soul and a great sense of place. Easy 95+ p. Best from 2020.

Magnificent stuff providing an array of aromas and flavors, this is flirting with perfection! By far the pay refined and elegant vintage to date, this sets a new standard to what's possible in Southeastern Tuscany. Polished tannins and lovely acidity are tucked to bed by silky sweet black curtsy fruit and area specific roasted herb additions. Great, layered, long and very promising finish showing tremendous potent for the long haul. Together with Gabbro 2010, this is Fabio's best wine to date.

2006 vintage. A great combination of Bdx and Tuscany, this hugely concentrated, bold and still not mature Mediterranean red boasts black currants and ripe cherries, licorice and spicy oak, framed by great tannins and acidity enabling flavors to linger effortlessly.

Big, ripe and large-scaled, yet with layered fruit and acidity to balance everything. Impressive showing. Better in another five years.
