Good bottle of this. Tiny bit over the hill though.

Would not have guessed Syrah blind. Black cherry, bitter chocolate, gunpowder, graphite, barnyard, stems. As it opens more Syrah like components: smoked meat, iron, violets. We like it.

Sigh. Another bretty wine where the brett overwhelms everything else. Also sad that none of the notes on CT acknowledge that.

Not sure where I got this. Been holding it for a while. Wanted a bigger and better wine tonight so I finally popped it. But then the cork broke into a hundred little pieces…

Looks right in the glass. Deep crimson. Edge of bruised plums. Nice spice box on the nose. Little like mulling spice. Medicines made of herbs and stewed cherry in there too. Made a flower scented candle? Dense CA Syrah-ish character in the mouth. Plums, blackberry, olives, and some black pepper. Not getting much bacon here. It’s fairly smooth, velvety and clean. Tannins are great. Could age longer I’m sure. 11 years pasha. I’m not stunned, but it’s true to the type.

Superb Syrah which doesn’t show its age. Fun to share with friends.

Very well rounded Syrah. Beautiful color, easy on the palate and elegant finish.
