As disappointed in Tijuana as in this wine.

Earth, blueberry and rose petals with just a hint of tobacco and eucalyptus on the nose. Soft and velvety with a great balance of fruit and acid. This can be enjoyed on its own, but also holds up quite well to food with some spice.

We were introduced to some great Mexican wines a few months back when we explored Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California. Monte Xanic makes some excellent wines. This is their entry Bordeaux blend of fifty fifty Cab and Merlot. The Merlot comes from their higher, cooler valley (Valle de Ojo), the Cab from the warmer Valle Guadalupe. It made a very interesting wine. The dark red vibrant fruit upfront from the Merlot and the dark earthy lingering finish from the Cab. Both very much in sync with each other.

Sweet, yeasty up-front. Red currant jelly. Good with cheese. Light for a Cabernet, but I guess this is a Cab-Merlot blend. Would like to see more wines from Baja!

Vino con gran cuerpo color púrpura intenso. Cuerpo denso con notas amaderadas, sotobosque, caramelo, taninos.
Ideal para acompañar carnes rojas.
