Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Bright and refreshing, but a bit too tart and limey for its own good. First time I had this was on a hot, humid day by the beach with a salad; it was great. Second time was at home on its own; too tart.

Jul 5th, 2018This is the SB that started my obsession with Sauvignon blanc. I remember picking it off a half priced wine list and drinking it with chicken wings- I didn't know wine could be so refreshing or fun. Years later, it is still just as good. Passionfruit, pineapple, grass, and cat urine nose. Notes of bell pepper, peach, lime, guava, and herbs. Medium body. LOVE.

Mar 4th, 2020Pale straw color. Aromas of lime, green bell pepper and kiwi. I dig it. Loads of citrus, mild wet slate and green apple on the palate.

May 21st, 2019Faint light white gold color. Soft stone and a tiny hint of grass nose. Unfortunately that’s where the grass and good times stopped for me on this one. Over the top lime and some minorish grapefruit notes. Med acidity. This was fine for our walk on the beach but not memorable. Maybe would’ve been better with light food. EDIT: A few hours after open it improved slightly in complexity with some signature grass notes. Enough to bump up to 8.5.

May 12th, 2019Gooseberry (aka cat pee) and tons of grapefruit. A little bit of pine needles but missing the grassiness I want from a NZ Sauvignon blanc. Vibrant acidity with lots of lemon/lime citrus on the palate as well as white grapefruit. Medium finish. Good but not great.
