The most affordable stagecoach wine? Delivers a very respectable flavor profile. Its young and needs time. Old school in structure. Dry tannins.

Smooth, smoky and juicy. A perfect balance of cedar box and dark red fruit. Not to mention the wisp of licorice on the finish. Tannins keep its stature sturdy.

Tonight was the 38th Big Taste of Fort Worth in honor of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Great wines and phenomenal food pairings. Went through about 25 wines tonight, so I'm only highlighting my favorites.

This was my first Miner, and it was a head scratcher. Obviously I gave it a nice rating, but it was a wine I kept thinking about all night because it seemed so different. Would have never guessed Napa Cab '13. Almost a sweet cranberry juice finish. Smokey and meaty upfront...Syrah like. But, the wine was lighter bodied. This is one I'll need to keep thinking on...

Better the second day and the floral tones are superb. Found this gem for 35 bucks and my wine shop had no idea what it had...

2005 Miner Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - Savoring and delicious layers of earth, cassis, plum and spice with moderate tannins and acid. Drinking well and will easily age for another 8-10.
