Reserva Gran Coronas Black Label Penedès Cabernet Sauvignon

Glorious resolved Cabernet. Dark currant fruit with lovely Brett notes and great purity of fruit. I thought this was classic Bordeaux. It wasn’t.

Showing very well, but not quite like the 1978. Fun Birthyear wine alongside the 82 Palmer.

Can’t stop drinking these, glad I have a good bunch. Sorry good and complex. Worth finding.

Bon vin mais dispendieux pour la prestance ! Corsé aigre, pas dans ma palette. Doit respirer, manque d'équilibre à mon goût mais pas mauvaise dutout.

A treat. Totally fresh and perfectly mature. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Deep cassis, plumb, smokey, floral. Sweet dark fruit on the palate, fine tannins. Very Bordeaux in style.

Crazy wine, and probably the most welcome departure from the Syrah-Fest of January '19. I was expecting a wine with a tiny bit of fruit but mostly notes reminiscent of a cigarette being put out in it. Whoah Mama! If blindfolded, there is no way I would have guessed that this was 100% cabernet from Spain, and 40 year old cabernet from Spain at that! Still had a lot of Blackberry on the front, but also hints of black tea, rhubarb. Leather and tobacco in the middle into the Finish. But this one finishes with a lot of black youthful fruit that is reminiscent of a wine that may have 10 years of age on it. Completely and totally awed.
