Had an ‘09 left in cellar, last time I had this classic Barolo was 4years ago and it needed lots of decanting, produced from of 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Medium Ruby with a bouquet of berry fruit aromas, mostly cherries, with earthy herbs. Aged in large oak cask for 2 years, on the palate complex flavors with cherries, stewed plums, blueberries, leather, earthy herbs and a hints of smoke and spice. Crisp acidity with tannins, still tight, gave the wine elegance & structure on the long finish. This Barolo still has room to age! Nice!

Opening the classic Barolo wine, produced from of 100% Nebbiolo grapes, and after a one hour decanting, I noticed a deep vibrant ruby color and a bouquet of berry fruit aromas, mostly cherries. Aged in large oak cask for two years, the taste was bold and complex with cherries, plums and blueberries flavors and a hint of smoke and spice. Crisp acidity with graceful tannins gave the wine elegance in structure on the long finish. I believe this Barolo will age well for years to come.

Tight, tight, tight and when it opened there wasn't a lot of anything. Decent structure. Decent acidity.

A little flat for Barolo. Lots of weight and presence on the palate but short on those lovely Barolo aromatics.

Really enjoyed a demi bottle - giving it greater depth of age than a 750 ml bottle from the same year
