California Cabernet Sauvignon

I recently had this producer's Pinot Noir and loved it. So, I'm trying his Cabernet Sauvignon. Not as impressive, though not bad. Dark fruit, pepper, tobacco, and a thin mouthfeel that seems watered down. Simple.
Listening to Fountains of Wayne

Smooth with hint of plum and black courant.

Dry and darkly fruity. Lighter in color than I usually go for so a pleasant surprise.

...not a "knock me out" but a solid, dry red Cabernet

This should be their Cab Sav. Nice mouth feel, dry, with dark fruit and a little tobacco. Gift from my SIL for Christmas. Enjoying with a nice spicy taco soup and some football.

Best under $10 bottle I’ve had in awhile.

Lighter color than expected. A bit rosy, not dark plum. Aroma is tons of vanilla and candy. Flavor is fine enough. Smooth for a young Cab. Not much going on. More vanilla. Streak of acid. A blah. ‘California’ Cab through and through.
