Smoked meats/sausage and cola on the nose, garnet color and medium-plus body, silky taste. Smooth, plum and raspberry, nice modest acidity, light vanilla notes, elegant finish.

Clos de los Siete by Michel Rolland Malbec Blend, 2019 — Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina 🇦🇷

Overview
A benchmark Bordeaux-inspired blend from Argentina, conceived by legendary winemaker Michel Rolland and crafted from vineyards in the Uco Valley. The 2019 vintage is composed of approximately 50% Malbec, 24% Merlot, 11% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, resulting in a beautifully layered wine that combines Argentine generosity with French precision.

Aromas & Flavors
An expressive bouquet of ripe blackberries, cassis, dark cherries, violets, cocoa, graphite, sweet baking spices, and a touch of cedar. The palate unfolds with concentrated dark fruit, mocha, espresso, licorice, and subtle mineral notes that continue to evolve as the wine breathes.

Mouthfeel
Full-bodied and powerful with dense yet polished tannins. Rich, velvety texture supported by fresh acidity keeps the wine balanced despite its concentration. The finish is remarkably long, savory, and persistent, gaining elegance with time in the glass.

Food Pairings
Perfect alongside grilled ribeye, lamb chops, Argentine asado, braised short ribs, aged Gouda, or mushroom-based dishes.

Verdict
One of the finest values in premium Argentine wine. It drinks well above its price point, offering complexity and structure rarely found around the $20 range. Give it an hour in a decanter and it rewards with remarkable depth and finesse.

Did You Know?
The name Clos de los Siete (“Estate of the Seven”) refers to the original collaboration between seven Bordeaux winemaking families, led by Michel Rolland, who shared a vision of producing world-class wines from Argentina’s Uco Valley.

Black cherry, raspberry, some chocolate notes too. It's inviting. The palate is very well made with a good acid drive, some chocolate and cherry notes all along, a good width, a soft mouthfeel that turns into a dusty wall of tannins, powering a long finish with that subtle, dusty drying effect and leaving some chocolaty, cherry touches all along. It's really nice for the price tag
