Les Chouacheux Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Nose is tamarind, pine forest, sour cherry and damson plum. Very clean, transparent, and juicy. Minimal extract. Ripe, not overly so, with an unexpected degree of sweetness. Easygoing, and likeable, even if it’s not the tightest package. Finish flattens out a bit.

What a nose. Huge and expressive with early season cherries and remarkable spice. Just stunning and expansive. Super elegant and juicy and just coats the palate in a nimble way. Man this is the most red riesling styled Burgundy I have ever tasted. So fresh and energetic with loads of soft and ripe tannins that cut a gorgeous swath across the palate. So pure. Stunningly good. An all time Beaune 1er cru for me. As the airs out it gathers finesse and the tiniest bit of opulence. Fruit gets sweeter. But all so nimble.

Punchy nose of red cherries, superbly mineral and earthy with all of the fruit and earthy perfectly balanced on the nose. Some licorice as well. Palate is juicy, dense, sapid and pure. Lovely dusty tannins and fine finesse. I love the elegant interpretation of this site from young Willliam Whitehead. Excellent ripe tannins and gorgeous purity. Such an impressive wine.

The 19 was the Fass Selections’ RWOTY. The 20 is a worthy successor. Nose starts out a bit reductive. Under that is mega minerality. I love how transparent 2020 is. Now just stunningly gorgeous roses and such fine pungent minerality But that palate is what makes my toes curl for this wine. So silky, so elegant, so ethereal. Like a soft pillow you lay your head on. This has the texture that we all go nuts for. This blows away the many Jadot versions i’ve had which I happen to like a lot. Super juicy and thrilling red fruits. Tangy and fresh. More structured than the 19. But what a wine. I’d wait 5-7 years.

Smoking nose of bright tangy mid to late season red cherries. Ethereal, confectionary and gorgeous. Really bright and lifted. Expansive and deeply aromatic. Layered and full of nuance. Really terrific nose. 9.6. Just stunning. Palate is sweet, silky, gamey and just flat out gorgeous with a very expressive hit of delicate and elegant minerality. This is mindblowing. Did not expect this to be that great. Beautiful light and translucent color as well. Such fine tannins. Hit of licorice develops on the nose. Really wonderful sweetness but also terrific depth and such finesse. Usually Beaune is more bigger and brawny but this one. Blind I’d say Volnay. Very impressive.

Love this vineyard. First time from Rebourgeon. Sick nose. Pastille like cherries with gorgeous minerality. Awesome spice and wafting clean minerality. Incredible nose. Haunting and lifted. Palate is super juicy and elegant and filled to the brim with minerals. Terrific fruit intensity. Bright red cherries, some plum, and awesome chewy but melty tannins. Terrific concentration and power with a super energetic mid palate that leads into a very long finish slathered in minerals. Awesome finesse and Inner mouth aromas. An inner mouth confectionary aroma as well. So killer. This has superb structure and will last 10–15 years and needs 3-5 but can be drunk young. Really persistent.

Ripe red and black cherries, mineral, moderate tannin, intense and long 🍒😘

Nose : sexy. Luscious. Intense perfume. Intense cherry.

Palate intense cherry fruit. Delicious.
