Dark ruby in color with a brick rim.

Nice fruity nose with black currants, cherries, vanilla, wood, black olives, tobacco leaf, light alcohol, earth, herbs, spices and black pepper.

Medium plus in body, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, eucalyptus, leather, balsamic vinaigrette, tobacco leaf, Mediterranean spices, herbs, earth, dark chocolates, graphite and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and spices.

This 6 year old Lodi Zinfandel is peaking now. It was worth waiting on it as it's way better than a fresh one. Showing a very complex nose and great balance. A wonderful sipping wine with great complexity.

Good right out of the bottle, but so much better after 2 hours in a decanter.

This 2011 vintage was not a good one, but it is drinking wonderfully now. Enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with light appetizers.

15% alcohol by volume.

Deadly sins my ass... But then I'm not Catholic!!! This Zinfandel is like a psychotic dwarf, wielding a fruit edged axe, leaping around the inside of your mouth. Fat fruit, teeth staining character... But limited complexity. Price in Canada makes me think it should take me hours to drink a glass... US prices would make this a deeply satisfactory bottle, something that Oakenshield would quaff with deep satisfaction. Buy in the US and pay the import fees... Then get your dwarf on!!!!

Tasting Notes: Tobacco stains, rain-soaked cemetery earth, claustrophobia, and denim shirts. Intense, bloody finish. Pairs best with journals packed with tiny, precise, hand-printed letters in an alphabet you created, and knives.

Robert Parker gave this new vintage 90 points for a good reason. Probably the best in years, and a sexy new label to show off in perfect timing! Enjoying this beyond expectations.
