Generous strawberry and sweet cherry fruit. Great mushroom nose, with some forest floor and limestone rock fizzing up with the bubbles.

Terrific wine. Some cherry and boysenberry jam with a tiny bit of dirt and flint mixed in. Wow.

Messmer Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir) Rosé Brut Sent 2010 Rose of Pinot Noir done Champagne-style. All the fruitiness of Pinot Noir along with the yeasty, spicy, woodland picnic of the time in the barrel. Plus bubbles! Really delicious! A favorite.

Certainly an extremely interesting sparkling wine. Spiced strawberries with a little floral and earth. This has some body to it that would allow it to stand up to some pretty hefty flavors. Loved it!

Aug 28th, 2016This is one of the best non-Champagne sparkling wine I've ever heard. It's rich in red fruit. At 13.5% alcohol, it is a little higher in alcohol than most sparkling wines. Just realized it's a 2009. Perhaps that's why it's so rich and smooth in texture.
