Garnet with light peach to the edges, not bad after a screw top and 5 years of bottle aging. Medium bodied, with a prominent red-fruit forward note, with hints of smoke and tar to the edges. Palate is fruit forward and accessible, with nice peppery notes, light tannins and slight bloody/meaty notes that linger into a dry finish. A nice, native, entry level Sangiovese. PS: Tasted great a week after, had real staying power with solid warmth and a nice, slightly acidic berry.
