This is an interesting chardonnay from Melville. It's a bit unusual insofar as its acidity seems to be much higher (at least more pronounced) than even the Inox offerings. Serving this a few degrees higher than typical for Melville chards allows it to come into a nice focus. Would be interesting to let this sit a few years to see what happens with it. Definitely inferior to the 2011 version of this wine, but still enjoyable.

Surprisingly dry Chardonnay. Pairs well with foie gras. Thanks for the birthday wine @Dan Hess

Wonderful acidity. Been a long time since I have had a chard with such intense citrus and lemongrass right up front. No wood whatsoever...the way nature intended.

Lovely full body tropical flavors kiwi, pineapple; ripe peach, and guava. Moderate oak finish rounds it out on an extended finish. Great choice for snacks while enjoying the view over Mirror Lake.

A small production chardonnay from Meville (100 cases produced), this is probably the best chardonnay that I've had from Meville (other than their Inox series, which in a great year is an awesome wine). This sees some oak but not overdone and is nicely offset by just enough acidity (pretty surprising considering that the fruit was harvested on November 8 and sports 15% alcohol - don't know how Greg Brewer does it!). Terrific juice!
