Melville
Estate Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir
When I made my run for the 2012 Wonderwall I also picked up a couple bottle of this 2010 Melville. The color is a nice ruby red that you can see through. The nose is some good red fruit, strawberry, raspberry, a little of the funk you get in Burgundian Pinot's and some soil. On palate I am getting a medium mouth feel with good red fruit, especially tart strawberries, a healthy minerality and acidity. Very nice and well balanced.

Nov 4th, 2013A little musty initially but after sitting open for about 3 hours just bloomed! Turned out to be quite pretty. Went perfectly with Gialina pizza! Glad I didn't hold it any longer tho
