It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ purplish rim.

On the nose blueberries, black currants, black plums, oak, licorice, light vanilla, earth, light vegetables, eucalyptus, tobacco leaf, herbs, dark chocolates and black pepper.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, red currants, oak, tobacco, licorice, earth, cocoa, spices, coffee and peppercorn.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder is still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Showing lots of earth notes, once it opens up (90 minutes).

This 4 year old is showing black fruits on the nose, and red fruits on the palate. Feels more like a Left Bank Bordeaux. Interesting stuff. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

Good by itself and better with food. I paired it with dried meats and crackers. Will pair nicely with lamb dishes.

A small production of only 7 barrels. Bottled in May 2021.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$115.

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.

Pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.

Full bodied and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Showing black fruits with cedar, cherry pie, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, coffee and herbs.

Long tangy finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 6 year old Napa Cabernet is drinking very nicely now. Showing great complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and rich. Opulent yet elegant.

Good right out of the bottle, and so much better after 2 in the decanter. As it opens up, more earth notes show up. After 4 hours the nose is so nice, I just kept smelling on it for a long time.

This is a Napa Cabernet with a touch of Bordeaux. Interesting and tasty. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

A great sipping wine to have all by itself. Will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak. Paired wonderfully with Italian prosciutto.

I had it 2 years ago, and it is drinking better now. What a delicious Cabernet.

Aged in French oak barrels for 36 months. A tiny production of only 8 barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

It is time to get my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder.

Inky in color with a reddish/ purple rim.

Nose of blueberries, black currants, plums, black cherries, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, herbs, vegetables, green pepper, tobacco leaf, espresso, mint and black pepper.

Full bodied and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, espresso, earth, bitter herbs, cola, dark chocolates, vegetables, bell pepper and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Tangy and spicy on the finish.

Still young, but already enjoyable. Earthier than I expected, and it might be a factor if it's youth.

Already showing a nice mouthfeel with nice complexity. This Single Vineyard feels like a left bank Bordeaux.

Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. Would be interesting to see how it evolves in the next 5 to 10 years. Has the potential to get to 95 points.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the tannins.

Will pair nicely with grilled or roasted meats. I paired it with Brie cheese and olives.

Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (clone 337) were aged in French Oak barrels for 36 months. A small production of only 200 cases.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

A beautiful expression of a Napa Cab. Lighter in style, but representative none-the-less.

We have never had a bad bottle of Meadowcroft wine so opening this was a guarantee that we would have another wine that would pair well with whatever we cooked.

Orange peel, spices and vanillin on the nose; lots of smooth oak balanced by pretty tannins on the palate, jammy red fruits. Heavy on the oak for my taste, but a well made wine.
