McCrorie Family Vineyards
Burly Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
This is the 2019 Burly “Simpkins Vineyard” Cab out of Coomsville (to be clear). I found this little gem (of all places) is a little beverage store in Fairview Park, Ohio called Minotti’s for a really reasonable price. And, MAN, am I glad I picked it up. I’m lucky enough to have met Hank McCrorie (“Burly”, as they called him on his college football team)- so I know the effort he makes to contend with the best out of that region. I just can’t recommend the Burly label anymore, I’m a perennial fan of whatever they produce and know that every, single, year- this stuff punches WAY above its weight class.

Sep 30th, 2024Black pepper spice, strong tannins, slightly sweet aftertaste. Nice to pair with a Strip Steak.

Dec 15th, 2017Hello my friends and fellow wine lovers! It is out. The big Burly 2011. Just as amazing as my previous years description of this amazing wine, tonights description of the 2011 varietal is almost identical to the 2010 varietal. Not only do all their bottles have incredible quality control within the year, year after year, each creation and production is so similar to the previous year you can feel secure in knowing when you pop the cork, you will be serving perfection! If you can afford to pay 60 dollars for a bottle of wine, you must try this. It is as close to any 200+ dollar bottle of wine I have ever had. Spice, blackberry, black currant, oak! Very big, bold, and dry! Great job again my friends at McCrorie Family Vineyards! Thank you and Cheers!!!! Salute!
