Mar 8th, 2023Super volatile nose with notes of paint thinner, creme de cassis, aged cherries in liqueur, oxdized in a way that reminds me of bandol sweet wines with walnuts and maple syrup almost. The palate is dry, with high alcohol, but also a balancing acidity. Red fruit and some leather, pine forest and tart cherry skin. Long finish, very contemplative wine. From 100+ yo Carignan vineyard co-planted with local varieties. Two years in old barrels.
