Mayacamas Vineyards
Napa Valley Chardonnay
Excellent. This really zaps you. It’s loaded with quince and green/yellow and red orchard fruit, with just a hint of the exotic. If there’s oak it’s subtle and well integrated. Chablisien.

Aug 29th, 2021Old California Chardonnay is up in the air for me. This was a nice treat from the winery. I would like to revisit with a clean palate. It was lacking a lot of fruit and had gone to a secondary notes which would be expected from a Chardonnay at this age.

Aug 8th, 2021The 2018 Chardonnay is an attractive wine, but it is also stylistically a bit different from some of the wines of the past. Creamy and silky in feel, with distinctly tropical notes. I am used to seeing wines with more structure. This is an especially airy, perfumed, easygoing style. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

1959, from half bottle. Made here by Philip Togni 56 years ago, served to him at dinner here last night. Still drinkable, was great with cheese. Slight nuttiness on the nose, reasonably fresh on the palette, relatively speaking. This bottle (which he signed) is going on the winery trophy shelf for sure. What an experience having him up.. Rating for gravity of experience only!! #napa #history #legacy
