Mt. Veeder Chardonnay
This was so dynamite..fresh, ripe pears and lemons, slight earth and button mushrooms with med + acid, love the slight buttery and nutty long finish. I could have guessed if blinded..Meursault..well done.,

Dec 24th, 2018Complex and pretty expression of high-altitude California Chardonnay, full of yellow apple, peach, citrus, some mango, and hints of dill on a medium plus frame with buttermilk and creaminess to round out the lasting finish - no overpowering oak and a delightful sipper

Jul 28th, 2018The 125th anniversary 2014. Good, but for me a little too much butter to start that faded some as it opened up in the glass. The same with the heavy lemon and citrus flavors...somewhat over the top. Good acidity and finish. Just not the best pair with the first part of Turkey 🦃 dinner. I settled on this because I couldn’t find the Joseph Phelps Chardonnay I wanted for pairing.

Nov 24th, 2017There is potential in here somewhere, but right now the fruit is hiding way back behind a wall of acidity. It's very burgundian in that way (trope alert!) but the way it drinks now the path to improvement is through complexity with age. I don't think this was meant to be open any time soon. Give it at least 5 more years.

Oct 14th, 2017Great old style California elegance, nutmeg and brown spice on the nose and tart apricot and citrus on the palate.

Jul 5th, 2017The evenings wine is the 2014 Mayacamas Chardonnay, the 125th Anniversary. This is a very nice chardonnay that is easy to drink and pleasing to the palate.
At first opening the were loads of citrus, apple, lemon, honeysuckle, praline, vanilla, white flowers and an earthy minerality.
The palate shows rich notes of lemon, green apple, lemon zest, lemon curd, honeysuckle, vanilla bean and a stoney minerality.
This wine brings out a crisp, lively and clean long finish that continues the fresh citrus notes. There is also medium + mouthwatering acidity.
A clean chardonnay that is pleasing to the palate and can be enjoyed with many foods. Have a great week and enjoy life to its fullest. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Jan 16th, 2017Big, thick, slightly sour, Meyer lemons, golden raisins, golden apple, lime pulp, grapefruit with pits, yellow lilies, honey graham crackers, waxy, round powdery minerality that is sticky on the tongue and nice, long, round finish. Photo features our family semi-famous and traditional gum drop tree. Hope you all have a great Christmas Eve, Christmas, Hanukkah and happy New Year!!! 🎆 🌲 🤶 ⭐️ 🎅
