Spicy, mineral and very well made. A whole lot of Pinot for the dollar.

Nose is ripe. Caramel, sultana, dark black cherries, tree bark, black berry, this is a ripe and dark Pinot nose but has stunning freshness and after some swirling, clearly defined minerality. So pretty and so mesmerizing. Palate is just incredible. Rich and creamy but with stunning freshness and an assault of minerality. This needs a minimum decant of 45 minutes to an hour as it’s got a lot going on and needs to sort itself out. Amazing balance and purity and this is the most large scaled Max wine I’ve had but still is balanced and delicate. Big, substantial tannins. This needs, actually demands 5-7 years in the cellar. Tangy, juicy fruit on the impressively large and long finish. 9.4 for now. I’ll be back.

Yea baby this has come around. Palate is rich and has insane freshness and acids to counteract. They really nailed 18 in Baden.

Hubba Hubba. This is bonkers. The latest small production Pinot star from Fass Selections. Incredible brambly berry fruit. Spice. Forest floor. Wow. Licorice. Cola. So pungent yet refined. So juicy and crunchy with amazing freshness and such depth. What fruit and purity. This is insane. There is a freshness and balance along with a killer finish that is only reserved for the best. Stupendous wine!

Based on enjoying the 2013 & 2014 versions in the past 12 mo. I decided this bottle should get a very extended decant, ~5 hours.

The most exciting nose of prior vintages, mashed sour cherry, dry earth, autumn leaves (quite distinctly) and crushed blackberry.

Palate has earthy (slightly mocha) black cherry, Bing cherry compote and moist loamy soil. Perfectly balanced tannins, likely soothed by the longer decant, long finish, great bottle, Chambolle-like!

Very enjoyable, wait until 2022+ before opening future bottles.

@Delectable Wine For your records this is a Baden, Germany based producer. Thanks.

Look at that Fucking color. Yes that is what Pinot is supposed to look like. Gorgeous. Unreal nose. Sour cherries, dry leaves, pinpoint precision. Takes 45 minutes to an hour before the symphony begins. But the unfurling and aromatic nuances are just gorgeous. The fruit is almost non existent on the nose the first 15-30 minutes then BAM! Palate is just amazing. Red Riesling on another level. This showing reminds me of Möbitz. It’s so ethereal and lacey. Stunning. Amazing delicate and refined red cherry fruit. More mid to early season cherries and gloriously juicy and perfectly ripe. This is so fine. Velvety and delicate Lacey tannins weave in and out of the finish. Stunning almost silly freshness. Stellar.

Following up with the '14 after enjoying the '13 a week ago...

Similar notes here, needs a couple hours to get moving in the decanter.

Nose has raisin, ripe cherry, white pepper and cola.

Palate is very smooth, tannins are quite mellow, over-ripe cherry, light loamy earth and sun baked red vine candy. A very tasty bottle, much more accessible than the '13 tonight.

Kicking off the 2018 Labor Day weekend!
This needed several hours decant to open up. Initial nose was a little concerning, re-hydrated plum/raisin were the first notes. Later into the evening, just wow, acid levels are mellow/perfect, blackberry/black cherry compote, loamy soil, flat cola. Give 4+ hours decant on future bottles.

Unscrew and pour. On the nose: blueberry, wild strawberry, more hi-toned than I remember. On the palate: gorgeous acidity, light-styled, good density, more blueberry and wild-strawberry, soft spice and velvety soft tannin on the tangy finish. Yum.
