Opened on a whim, probably need to decant longer as it opened up well. Earth, blackberries, leather books, might be sunflower seeds too. It was very nice. Kinda wishing I had more.

Deep ruby hue with garnet rim variation. Intensely fragrant nose with ripe black fruit, such as plum, cassis, blackberry, and spice, especially black licorice, anise, nutmeg, dried oregano, molasses, tobacco, and wet earth.

Palate is dry, tart, full-bodied, with medium+ acidity, medium tannins, and a long, lingering finish.

This wine could stand more time in the bottle, but is very approachable at the moment, especially with some time decanting.
