Dec 25th, 2024Sampled over a number of days. Initially I found the cedar (?) note fairly pronounced but over time the wine grew more balanced and complex. My sense is more time in the bottle will be kind to it.

1hr+ decant. Dark maroon color with brownish tones. Cedar and dark cherries on the nose and palate. Tannins still present. Solid.

Dec 6th, 2025PnP. Dark red color. Awesome, complex nose filled with bell pepper, cardamom, oak, flowers, and a hint of peppermint. Bright cherries and wood on the palate. Medium depth and finish. Very nice!

What a wonderful Napa Merlot from Mathiasson. Quite deep in the glass. Tons of pepper on the palate which is interesting. Lots of dark red fruit - not blackberry, but blackcurrant. Excellent acid and a nice finish. Great pairing with pork chops with a mustard sauce.

Deep purple (for a Merlot). Beautiful fragrance reminds me of a floral bouquet. Fine subtle taste. Well done - one of the best! October 2019.
