Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Much much more elegant than so many Napa Cabs. Mint, tobacco, cassis, and loads of acidity to balance.

Plum, cassis, mint, anise and a touch of tobacco. Classic Napa cab with acidity that won’t quit and alcohol that doesn’t overpower.

A classic Napa Cabernet that show true varietal character with low alcohol and not a lot of new oak.

Total throwback to old Napa. All tannin and acid, dust and fruit. The beginning of a legendary wine.

Ohhhhh shit, effortlessly great.

Straight fire

The 13s are something. While this has always been pretty approachable the structure is in some ways even more pronounced with age. Still a very well balanced cab.

Probably would have been better with a decant but opened this to replace a corked wine and so it goes. 13.5% Napa cab. Always appreciate the matthiasson style with wines like this. Velvety with deep red and purple fruit. Great acid and a nice finish. Quite a lot of sediment.

Great balance, old world inspired (or Steve would say, classic Napa). One of the more accessible ‘13 cabs I’ve had.

r. @ Bistro jeanty in yountville. Still very young. Like a young Bordeaux. Excellent acidity, bright blue and black fruits, with still pretty crisp but not at all astringent tannins. Pop and pour. Definitely a decant is in order. Opened up nicely over the course of the meal. Really quite delicious.
