Dunnigan Hills Syrah

DOU (dead on uncorking) - 2011 has lost all its fruit. Nothing to drink here. Move along.

Fumey, and Smokey dark fruits, vanilla, dill, all spice, basil, blueberry and cedar, anisette, liquorice, and real coco on the nose and then a raspberry, minerality with a fiery acidity on the palate. I had to try it. Because I love Syrah.

Dark and fruity, not too jammy, light spice on the finish

Just ok, kind of flat with minimal fruit. Expected more

Tasted against the Clay House Syrah and thought the Clay House was a bit better, although the Match Book was a nice wine as well. Match Book had a slight earthiness and not as intense of fruit as we like. It was also a touch acidic. We enjoyed the bottle, however, but feel there are better examples of Syrah at a lower price point.

Blackberries, oak, honey, black raspberries. Not very deep, and a bit boring, but a very simple casual drink

Sour, dry, strong tart aftertaste

Hint of herbs. Jams. That’s the nose. Tastes good. Woodsy and fairly ripe. Oaky and kinda rich. Has the Syrah in it. Not as funky as others, but tastes good.

Easy and rich and good. Costco buy!!!

I like this one, good fruit flavor, not too sharp good balance. Finish is a touch harsh.
