Black's Station Dunnigan Hills Red Blend
YOLO! Catchy label with the horse riding mailman and old southern vibes. Name refers to Zamora though. That I-5 turn in the road north of Woodland. Land O’ the almond trees. Dark and almost black colored I the glass. Smells like coffee and plum-black cherry jelly. Little cut lumber. It’s voluptuous and round in the mouth. Pretty dense. Plenty of tannin as we might expect dealing with hot climate Petite’s. It’s a nice cheese and salami wine. Rich, strong and tannic. Avoids the fruit bomb and carameled apples trappings I feared and danced the line between interesting and overdone.

Oct 23rd, 2021Dark color. Very ripe nose. Plenty of cherry pie/cobbler and full of licorice if the red color. Flavor is simple and fruitful. Maybe berries and milk chocolate? It a decent red blend. Not dynamic, but drinkable. OK,

Aug 23rd, 2019Good wine. More of a conversation wine that had a good flavor but is just ok with food. A little dry but in a good way.

Mar 14th, 2018Ruby red with a slight hint of purple. Aromas of violets, cherries, raspberries, chocolate, and fine black table pepper. It’s a nice nose but in the mouth it’s a little flat. Medium bodied, soft tannin, a strangely all-over-the-place acidity, and it all just seems a bit unbalanced. There’s a bit of leather on the palate to keep things interesting but it’s mostly sticky red fruit without the gusto to back it up. And everything fades quickly on the flat finish.

May 10th, 2017This review is for the Cab Sav-- vanilla, tobacco, cherry. Totally $12 Cali cab sav. Still pretty tasty though.
