Aug 31st, 2018Big, fruit-forward and powerful. A bold wine with excellent tannins and nice acidity...it’s drinking well now but definitely had many, many years ahead of it.

Aug 9th, 2018Surprising elegance on the palate for being as saturated and alcoholic as it is. Classic dark cherry, leather, cigar box, licorice, balsamic herb notes, dry and dusty tannin. Great fruit purity and spice character. Big, powerful wine with a sensitive side.

May 27th, 2018A perfect reminder that the point of wine is to bring us together. Thank you to the ever gracious @Leslie Hartley-Sbrocco for hosting, and Riccardo Illy for providing the delicious reason to do so.

On the palate, silky textures and pure Sangiovese fruit collect beneath resonating earth tones, all supported by a web of minerals and tannin. The finish is long and youthfully structured, yet the wine maintains terrific freshness. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2020)

Vibrant red. Aromas of violet, red cherry and licorice on the nose. Trim and modestly built, but with very good acid-fruit-tannin balance and clean flavors of red cherry and herbs on the medium-long finish. I expect this to improve with a little bottle age. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, April 2020)
