Such a big wine with shoulders meant to last for decades. When compared to Fuedi San Gregorio - Radici has more new oak and spice with softer tannins. My new man crush.

This is one for the cellar, but there are so many beautiful things going on already. Nose is piquant tamarind, orange zest, tart cherries, star anise and hints of tar, varnish and grape leaves. In the mouth it’s electric; tannic and surprisingly light-framed, with loads of cherries around an intense acid core. Wild and elegant. So young but it’s already thrilling to drink.

Now THIS is what I want out of an Italian red. Balsamic, figs, dried cherries and tar on the nose. More the same on the tongue plus some leathery notes. And some lilacs! It is lithe yet thick, like a violet colored lightweight down comforter it will keep you warm. I poured a glass and am going to try again in an hour or so.......okay I’m coming back to it now almost two hours after. The VA has blown off more which is both good and bad depending how you look at it. Oddly the fruit seems fresher. And more. More plush ripe fruit. I’m into this but I fear it’s age made it fall off a bit faster than I surmised.

Delicate. Tanins have softened. Nose of light plum and leather. Medium to full body. Complexity with layers of tastes.

Very nice on the nose with plenty of layers. Sour cherries, black tea, tobacco, tomatoe leaf, rocks, violets. Very tannic and acidic finish.
