Initially paired with steamed, garlic/lemon scented fresh artichokes, this wine went down the familiar path of falling apart on the palate. Chalk it up to operator error.
Continuing on with braised Tuscan kale (garlic, anchovy, chili flake), cured meats and aged provolone, this starts to bloom.
Pale yellow/gold. Gently sweet nose of almond blossom, sun-warmed peach skin. On the palate this is dry, medium-full bodied and oily in texture. It offers a fleeting, subtle, vegetal sweetness, like cardoon or slightly wilted daisies (maybe an echo of the earlier eaten artichoke, of the same botanical family?). Some white grapefruit, tangerine peel, citrus oil notes. Quite interesting and worth coming back to with more time open.

Oily, rich and thick. Bold flavors without oak, ripe melon and herbal savory.

Gets better with the meal - I had garlic shrimp with fried lemon as the antipasta and rack of lamb for the meal.

Fruity, fresh and intriguing. Apulian wines are often good value for money. This is one such!

Gorgeous golden color, perhaps one of the prettiest glasses of white wine I've seen for awhile. The nose presents some herbacious notes with a bit of melon. The texture is rich and a bit creamy. Apple and pear flavors, along with a certain je-ne-sais-quois about it. I assume the name of this grape, Verdeca, has something to do with green-ness, but I would not characterize this wine as green at all. Very unique indeed, and enjoyable, too! 100% Verdeca. 12/15/21.

This got better after a couple…days? I was slow to drink on the front, left it a couple days and came back to something like a French Chardonnay that’s sucked on a sea rock too long. Left the last glass and a half for a week and it was fully balanced, rich without creaminess, lemon with a little honeydew sweet.
