Chianti Classico Sangiovese
Chianti Classico, Chianti, Tuscany, Italy

Drank 1/29/22
Nose is spectacular, with blackberry, plums, vanilla, and cedar. On the palate, black and red cherry, plums, earth, and a bit of tomato sauce. Firm but well entegrated, and balanced tannins lend structure to the long finish. This has evident oak treatment, and has a very international feel with the roundness given by the merlot. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but I find this very enjoyable, and a great value at around $18

Excellent with a stromboli

Had with typical Tuscan food. Suited it well.

1 person found it helpfulNov 8th, 2014Medium ruby hue with medium saturation. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, leather, mint, plum, raspberry, rose petal, tar, and vanilla. Medium-plus body, with medium-plus tannins and high acidity. Complex but elegant bouquet, palate full of red fruit with a satisfying, earthy finish. Highly versatile. Blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot.

Mar 31st, 2022This is the reserve for $32 at total wine. I am usually not a huge fan of chianti's but this is Definitely the best chianti I've had. It is much richer and deeper than most and finishes sharp with a little acidity. I didn't have it with a meal but you can tell it needs a hearty meaty dish along side. Not worth the price tag!!
