#sample: Introducing the Martins Vineyard Limited Series McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016 from McLarenValeCellars.com

For the wine tech geeks:
“Martins Vineyards sources fruit from a combination of owned vineyards and premium McLaren Vale growers. The blend of individual vineyard and sub-regional characteristics is the key to the resulting style. Sub regions are Blewitt Springs, McLaren Flat, Willunga and McLaren Vale. Wine was matured in oak barrels, ranging from new to 2 year oak. with a mixture of French and American oak.”

In the glass it’s a deep, luscious garnet red. Black fruits and anise dominate the nose for me with sweet cedary wood enticing me in for a sip. Those black fruits come through on the palate and they seem to be dipped in dark chocolate 🍫 . The drying tannins and long finish makes this a red perfect for eye-fillet steak 🥩 night!

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
