Martinelli family has been farming in Sonoma County since 1860. Deep Ruby color with aromas of red berry fruit and sweet spices. On the palate ripe cherry and blueberry flavors, with some dried fruit notes, oak, cinnamon spice and cola tones. Fine mouth coating tannins with balanced acidity carry this rich wine to a long finish. Good now will age a bit!

Liked it a lot, so I tried another bottle. The Martinelli family has been farming in Sonoma County since 1860. Deep red with aromas of red berry fruit and sweet spices. On the palate ripe cherry and strawberry flavors, not as jammy as my notes indicated on my previous try, with oak and pepper spices and cola tones. Fine tannins with balanced acidity carry this rich wine to a lingering finish. Will age well. Have a few more bottles I’ll keep for a future taste.

Martinelli family has been farming in Sonoma since 1860. All wines are from estate grown grapes, farmed by Lee Martinelli Sr., and sons, Lee, Jr. and George, continuing five generations of the family legacy. Aromas of sweet black fruits and earthy floral spice. On the palate cherry with vanilla notes. Soft tannins, well made, lingering with a complex ending balanced between fruit, spice and sweetness and mineral tones.

I’ve been interested in trying this producer and this Pinot was the first wine from the estate I’ve come across here in Sweden. This is full bodied Pinot in its truest form. Very tasty stuff packed with flavour. Ripe berries. baking spice, liquorice, coffee, cola, pastilles. This is hedonistic but the abv (15%, possibly higher?) is almost taxing a couple of glasses deep.
