Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Franc
So open. This wine wants to be drunk. It’s very high on the pleasurability scale. Sweet mint, herbals, cassis, berries on the nose. Amarena cherry. Great acidity and freshness. Long finish. More notes later. Nose is killer now. Big herbals and dripping with kirsch fruit. Sweet clay. Sweet soil tones. Impressive. Palate is so juicy and clean.

Aug 31st, 2024Super awesome, tons of pyrazines, embarrassed to say I didn’t know Walla Walla Valley extended into Oregon.

Jul 1st, 2023Big fruit. Cassis, herbs, tiny berry fruit intensity. Juicy, ripe and super fresh. But also riper than 21. Long finish. Elegant.

Jan 12th, 2023Herbal, balanced and juicy. Hint of leather on the nose. Juicy and clean. Dusty tannins. It’s not gobby. Huge spectrum. Outrageous. Complex. So fine. So dusty. One of the wines of the day.

Jan 12th, 2023Beautiful cab franc from Walla Walla grapes. Distinct and different than any Chinon or other Loire Valley that I can remember. Solid fruit and not over extracted. Nice lengthy finish with sturdy acidity. Not soft. Recommended!

Jun 15th, 2022Just awesome. Nose is super complex with loads of spice, herbs and red fruits. Lovely. Really subtle yet also in your face. I know it’s a contradiction but that’s how it’s showing. Sweet red fruits and sweet spices. Baking spices. Palate is so lush, so juicy and so serene and has lovey sapid fruit on the back end that stays and stays with you. Lovely elegant tannins that are ripe and sweet. What length. Killer killer wine. Such an impressive Franc.

Jan 25th, 2022This is such a dank Cabernet Franc. Nose is huge cassis and a wonderful herbal complexity. Sweet spices and hints of sweet oolong tea. Very complex and very aromatic. Wow the spice is just crazy. It’s so focused and vibrant. Clove, cinnamon, some sort of incense. 9.6. Nose. Out of this world. Palate is Thierry Germain single vineyard meet Oregon. So nimble, so lithe but wonderful fleshy, tannic driven fruit and such a complete package on the palate. Such precision and freshness. A wonderful elegant structure and clearly defined cassis and red current fruits. This, like all of Evan’s wines needs air but it’s a knockout.

Nov 9th, 2021It is not close. This is the best domestic Cabernet Franc I’ve ever had. Insane nose. It smells like if Foillard made a Cabernet Franc. Sick florals. Like OMG florals. Gorgeous berry fruit and lovey hint of wonderful sweet herbs. It is such a deep and enveloping aroma that it is almost too intoxicating. Just a total wow nose. Truly amazing. You can sniff so so hard and more and more aroma arrives in your nose. Just stunning. 9.6 nose. Really stunned. Confectionary as well. Palate is so refined, so elegant and so juicy. Just extraordinary. It’s medium bodied and insanely fresh, with such refined, ripe and substantial tannins. So pure. What balance. 40% whole cluster. Loess soils. What a long incredible finish and the fruit just sticks to the back of the palate. A truly brilliant wine.
