Trarbacher Hühnerberg Kabinett Trocken Mosel Riesling
Gorgeous nose of peach, tangerine, perfume, very aromatic. Fruity perfume. Peach , apricot palate are so vivid and finishes mineral and salty. Finish expansive.

Jun 6th, 2024No formal notes. So much fruit skin and flavor. Killer acids.

Oct 26th, 2023I haven’t had a German Riesling in a bit so this was a real treat!! Slate, petrol, and lime. So delicious!

Jul 28th, 2020One of the best Kabinetts in the Mosel. Stunning nose. So evocative of the great Hühnerberg. Citrus peel, hint of vulcanized rubber, gorgeous orange and white florals. Haunting, layered and ephemeral. Incredible. So awe-inspiring. Best and most open Hühnerberg Kabi nose ever. So so so insane. Unreal palate. Huge mouthfeel, and just next level juicy and so complex. Terrific inner mouth aromas. A wonderful playfulness on the palate yet so so serious as well and a structure that indicates 15+ years ahead of it. What a finish with incredible sap, grip and length. Just a brilliant Kabinett. Wow. Almost salty. Sick wine. After some air the texture is so good. And the finish becomes more mineral. What a wine. Grand Cru Kabinett.

Apr 18th, 2020Ahhh. Transported to the Mosel. Slate, citrus oil, apricot skin, so mineral. Palate is an exercise in precision and clarity. Terrific citrus fruits. Balanced like the next and wonderful delineation on the finish. Sappy citrus and apricot. Wonderful freshness and a real explosive finish. Very dry but juicy. Terrific.

Jul 17th, 2018So good. Confectionary nose. Citrus, spice, deep perfume, somewhat feral, funky, classically Hühnerberg. Powerful yet also saline and mineral a f. Juicy and clean but also holding back so much. Gorgeous bitter fruit and purity. Long but needs 3 hours at least to open and ideally 5 years in the cellar. Masterful Kab Trocken.

Jan 9th, 2018First I must address the color of this one... Yellow like the most over-oaked of all the CA Chardonnay that I sprint from in the opposite direction. Nose is unique, or new to me at least, wicked citrus/slate combo going on with a little under-ripe peach happening. Palate is like WOW slamming acidity and minerality (this is a palate reset wine for sure), citrus and pineapple (close to the core) flavors just takeover. I'm excited to see how this evolves tonight.
Two Hour Update: Acidity mellowed to 7/10 from 9/10, apple/peach notes are lightly coming forth on the palate.
Thanks @Lyle Fass

This is also the "trocken" version of Müllens Hühnerberg Kabinett. Imo his best vineyard which always delivers this extra bit of minerality & depth to the wines. Tension, subliminal power, long finish. A steal for the money.
