Deep ruby in color.

Strong nose of cherries, strawberries, earth, wood, licorice, cloves, herbs, bell pepper, spices, pencil lead, black pepper and alcohol.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, tart raspberries, cranberries, wood, cloves, milk chocolates, smoke, pencil lead, leather, green vegetables and peppercorn.

Tart finish with young, firm tannins and spices.

This Spanish Rioja is drinkable, but not by itself, better with food.
Unbalanced and spicy with mild complexity. Needs an hour to open up properly, and show some tannins.

Not my style. I paired it with a charcuterie board.

Wine Spectator 89 points.
Wine Enthusiasts 83 points.

A blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha. Aged in French and American oak casts.

14% alcohol by volume.

Pretty good, but uninspiring. Too dry/not smooth enough for me.

Awesome wine.2012 vintage. Well balanced. Light but interesting texture,
Accompanied with lamb chops and mustard. Perfect.
