GK. Becoming one of my favorite Kabinetts. Just perfect. Lime slate nose. Dreamlike it’s so pure. Palate is all energy and elegy. Perfect sweet acid balance and so juicy. Unreal finish. Spiritual.

Apr 25th, 2026Just amazing. Super elegant and I mean crazy elegant. Nose of sweet spices, apricots, confectionary aromas, some vulcanized rubber and slate. Palate is just amazingly elegant, perfectly juicy and such insane balance between sweetness from sugar, sweetness from fruit, juiciness of the fruit and that dry slatey, somewhat savory finish. A 4 act play.

Yesterday’s Wednesday Wine Committee, hosted by @Jeff Meyer , was so educational with fantastic German & Austrian wines. 1 sparkler, 5 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert wine. All served blind as usual.
This was my favorite of the whites. Floral, sweet and petrol driven. Slate, peach, grapefruit, and lychee. Almost Gewürztraminer like without the orange blossom notes. I called this Spätlese styled German Riesling.
