But this is too cold and will get more complex once it warms up and breathes. Lime zest. Lime flesh. The minerality is just ridiculous on that nose. Wow. So structured, elegant and nimble. Gorgeous fruit. Apricot and pear. Laser focused. Just insane focus here. So long and juicy. Wow. Finishes so mineral. Nose is getting spicey and smokey with air. Wow. Coming alive. So elegant and refined. Small hit of opulence and finishes so so salty now. Wow. More to come. This is the white cap which means trocken.

Nose : lemon and rocks. White flowers. As this opens, incredibly expansive.
Palate: sweet lemon, lemon minerals. Very good density. Delicious.
Finish is this petrolly mineral crazy thing. Terrific.

Excellent bone-dry Auslese from this top Mosel producer. Pale; steely yet full of exotic fruit - nuances of lychee, dragon-fruit, mango stone, and kumquats; fierce piercing acidity that needs to mellow a bit - try again in 6-8 years.

Dec 31st, 2015Good classic spätlese Riesling. More fruity notes with little petroleum. Good balance with a bit more towards sweetness. Enjoyable in the end of the meal with cheeses.
