Mark Herold Wines
White Label Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
This is being served well chilled.
The nose shows bright fruits with a core of dark currants, dark spice and really beautiful florals.
The fruits are perfectly ripe & juicy; blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, dark cherries, raspberries on the palate edges, purple fruit blend, dry tobacco & leather, dry barrel shavings, lead pencil, dry crushed rocks, bold, drier M+ tannins, black coffee, anise to black licorice, dark chocolate, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, dry herbs, limestone marl, bright fresh and a little withering, dark, red, & purple flowers, very nice acidity and a fresh that is well; tensioned, structured, balanced, elegant that last 90 seconds and lands on dry tannins & earth.

2021 vintage. Medium body but filled with old-school passion, love and flavors. More than a hint of mint on the thrashing, tannic finish. Previous, similarly priced efforts from this producer left me indifferent/cold. It takes a lot to awaken certain things these days but this one got the overly jaded California Cab palate fired up again. 01.15.25.
