Sybarite Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Sauvignon Blanc
A rush of citrus, floral and tomato leaf aromatics lead into beautifully sculpted orchard fruit flavors, nicely balancing vivacity with depth. The Sybarite offers plenty of bright Sauvignon character (without veering into the green/grassy end of the spectrum) and tons of sheer appeal. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2020)

Sep 8th, 2020Doug Margerum founded MWC in 2001, producing limited quantities of Rhône grape varietal wines. Word SYBARITE is derived from Sybaris, an Ancient Greek city in southeastern Italy. 100% Sauvignon Blanc, aged in stainless steel (85%) & neutral French oak (15%) for 10 months. Aromas of herb, citrus zest & grassy notes, with tropical fruits, typical of SB. On the palate tropical fruits, sour grapefruit & lime citrus flavors, very savory. Refreshing finish ending with citrus & grassy notes. Tasting Sample!

Jun 27th, 2014Doug has done it again! Always sybaritic not hedonistic ... Who says it's too cold for Sauvignon blanc

Feb 8th, 2014Smell: kinda funky, smells super acidic and citric.
Taste: the first sips are iffy, too acidic and not tasty. But then it becomes smoother and can taste more hints of lime.
