I get excited about the really good value wines ($16). This wine has all the traditional markers of Italian wine: high acid, tart cherry, ripe tomatoes, a little earthy funk, and dried herbs finishing with grippy tannins. It was excellent with Italian meatballs. Especially fun since I found this digging through random, forgotten wines at Rite Aid. Haha! You have to keep an eye out. You never know where you will find a great wine.
