Birthday year wine for me! Might not be the best Tig vintage, but nothing to scoff at. The ‘88 is getting to be almost last prime, this time bottle showing well. Rusty red with strong aromas of cigar box, leather, and pencil shavings. Drinks slightly thin, and im not getting much fruit. Still, it’s tasty and a special vintage to me.

Mar 2nd, 2024Slightly oxidized reds & a gentle tannin that lingered. Definitely not bad butt his particular bottle not the greatest showing of Tig I've had.

1988 out of mag - initial funk cleared pretty quickly to reveal a layered complexity, ash, earth and graphite along with dark berry fruit. Great acidity in the mouth but get the feeling that this is on or just past it's peak. A great wine that lived up to its name.

Full bouquet, taste of fruit blackberry and aged oak with a noticeable amount of tannin and a loooong finish as it opened up. Going from tangy to spicy and leaves your mouth feeling like it went to sleep for a good 30 seconds.
