No formal notes but this is a killer example of NV BdB that just delivers the goods every time.

Simply one the best grower Champagnes available anywhere. There is a slightly hedonistic, almost zaftig character to this bottling that could only come from “Pinot Noir” terroir such as Mareuil Sur Ay. Wonderful sweetness, impeccable balance and glorious texture. Almost none of us at the tasting would have guessed Chardonnay. Terroir matters!

Toast, yeast, apple, melon and a hint of lime. Had some body to it and very flavorful!

Beautiful and straightforward BdBs. Lemon, cream soda, honey, oil - all on the canvas made of ripe pear and apple. Not complex but quaffable thanks to almost perfect balance, higher acidity and a long aftertaste. Consistently good.

Date of dégorgemenent: 16 March 2021.

An old friend. One of my favorite champagne houses. Always steady and reliable with the added bonus of genuine excitement and excellence. It’s such an innately harmonious wine. Fine bubbles and creaminess. Aromas of green apples and lemons up front with hazelnuts behind. Biscuits straight from the oven with just the loveliest bit of mint. Let this one just sit for a while, you’ll be rewarded with the bouquet.

Pure Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. In the hands of this house, you expect nothing less than a champagne that makes you thrill. Very bright and charismatic, this distinguishes itself from the rest with zippy acidity and the refinement. Lush and full, there’s real depth here.

As soon as it touches your tongue, you’ll notice the chalky minerality going on here. Such an expressive wine. Lemon tarts and the hint of apple pie in the mouth. Apricot jam and almond pastries. This is very hard to beat qpr wise so don’t try, just enjoy it.

A pale straw color with a generous amount of tiny bubbles. A fine mousse and bead. This is an incredibly alive champagne and it starts immediately. Meyer lemons and tart green apples, along with smoke and mint on the nose. That wonderful citrus streak continues throughout.

100% Chardonnay primarily from Mareuil-sur-Ay and Chouilly. Family owned grower and one of my favorite producers with such consistent quality. Richer and fuller than many others, it’s round and vibrant. Lovely depth and acidity with a backbone of herbs and spices.

Chalky minerality and crystallized honey shine here. Beautiful toasted bread and almonds on display, along with more green apples and lemons. Apricots, plums, and peaches sing a lovely song. Chamomile and more honey on the long, exceedingly pleasant finish. A highly attractive pour.
