With 7 years age, a tamed beast that always delights me. Have no idea what they do the Sangiovese to make it so feral & alive. Very dark black fruits. Slight frizzante & ping pong tannins. Let it develop in glass so you can taste how the fireworks morph. This wine has been around for a while,& I always have fun with it. Great QPR too.

A dense Rosso from Marche. When drunk First time all jagged edges & needing to stretch with air. This time much more polished with less air time, though I suppose this would still be Considered “rustic”. Wild blackberries, cassis, & just lovely overall black fruit profile, medium plus acidity, & something feral on front palate. A lot of wine for about 16$.

The 2017 Rosso Conero Villa Malacari smolders with a mix of black currants, smoky crushed stone and sage. It’s silky yet cool-toned, ushering in mineral-tinged red berry and violet inner florals. Grippy tannins linger as the Villa Malacari tapers off structured and almost salty in character. $16.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2022)

I am a big fan. Tannic, grippy, and simple but solid fruit profile. Well balanced. For $18, buy more.

As good it gets for an authentic old school Italian Red.

Night 1 a little funk on the nose- reminds me of the tester glue I used to build plastic models. Good fruit, med tannins, rustic. But pleasant. Day 2 the nose has more barnyard- band aid thing. Wine seems more together- cohesive. I like these old school wines. No flash. The Neil Young of wines.
