Jan 14th, 2023Nose has few day old lemon peel, wet river rocks, lightly oxidized apple, lanolin and beeswax.
Palate has dehydrated pear & apple slices, wet sandstone, neutral oak, somewhat dry on the finish makes for a unique St. Aubin experience.
I don't think this is past enjoyment, but might be on the down side of middle age. So much minerality on the palate, almost a fruitless wine. I'll be interested to see this bottle in a couple more years, luckily still a few bottles in the cellar.

Castor photo bomb. This is in the zone. Big mineral and very generous nose. Wet stones. Very clean, like a pure stream of rocks and some hints of green apple. Complex palate with insane mineral. Almost no fruit. Love it. Lively palate with a long finish with terrific cut. Excellent showing. No rush. Had 5-7 more years.

That man. That bad man @Lyle Fass bade me to commit an infanticide and I have gone forth and done his bidding. Going to let this open, but nose and palate were delicious and oak seems to be integrating here more than other 2012s I've tried of late. More to come
